Nine to five meets Rock and Roll fusion: This is a regular sight, Me and Paul often just jam in the evenings creating genius...Tuesday's a scramble egg has been re-recorded, In Shops November.

My long hair has been chopped, Now I look like a Dutch lesbian, Not really, maybe German.

A typical Wendy look Pre Korea game. look at her hey, its innocence personified.

Awww this is me and our Sydney Opera House guide; Trish, full name; Patricia Fouracres...Honestly. As soon as she opened her mouth I knew it was love. She is so quaint it's untrue. I would not be surprised if she did not get paid because her love for all things Opera House were truly evident. She would use words such as delightful, quite simply devine, splendifirous. She described opera singers as "true gentry and that only a dressing room of this size could befit such a man and his stature!!"

She said that in some lights the Opera House had a pinckish tinge and asked me if I had ever seen an actors trap? No I haven't you naughty little minx and less talk of your pink tinge please Trisha.

Celeb of the Month

My celeb of the month is Reg Regan, real name Mathew Johns.

Matthew Johns (born July 27, 1971 in Cessnock, New South Wales, Australia) is an Australian entertainer who had previously enjoyed a successful career in rugby league. He has adopted a couple of comic personas, namely Reg Reagan, a retired 1970s footballer.

Reg is a feature on The Footy Show, a sports show on Australian telly. He basically goes out on the street and interviews and berates celebs and the public.

E.g When speaking to a Japenese fan at the world cup he asked: " If we's beat you lot will leave our bloody whales alone?"

My World Cup of Tea and Biscuits

Just a quick World Cup round up seeing as I have convinced myself that it is a good luck charm.

Korea went out much to my distress, Not a word has been spoken of soccer in the house since their exit.

Australia went out as many a team have to a late and slightly dubious penalty. Though the every soccer show since has harped on a bout the injustice of World football on Australia. One commentator actually said something along the lines of: "Its a disgrace, no one wanted us here and they have been planning this all along, if they didnt want us here they should of turned us away."

...and a newspaper read: Australia were all over one of the best teams in the world and then cheated us and gave Italy a pen" get over it

England: Scraped through with no real threat, Saturday is a 2Pac and Biggie, Hopefully we will see a real England performance, this for me is the most crucial game of all to come, if we can get through this then any of the last four are in with a shout.

Come on England!!

Saw this and thought...

The deaths of at least five Chinese football fans during the World Cup have been linked to drinking or over-excitement watching the games. (The Independent)
I know its not funny but it's believable living with these lots, I wonder if they could chuck some of that bad luck our way.

KOKO'S SEND ENGLISH MAN LOCO

A group of Korean people sent an Englishman crazy this week in the CBD area of Sydney, Australia. The Englishman thought to be Tom Briant, 23 from the Hertfordshire area of England is on his travels in Australia. One onlooker Rik.E.Martin said "It looked like he was living la vida loca." It is suspected that the Koreans live with the young backpacker and as a result have sent him slightly mental as a result. Police are monitoring the situation carefully and a possible arrest is thought imminent.
So yes, the Koreans are doing my head in but more on that in a second. Firstly I will update you on the in and outs of of the house. John (aka my boyfriend) has left to go tree planting in Melbourne, for a man who like to get at least 18 hours of being horizontal a day I cant imagine this is the job for him, any way he has left and rang me the other day for a casual chat as friends do, He claims he planted 10,000 tress in one day, I somewhat doubt this and would of thought I would of heard about the fact that Australia were planning on recreating the Amazon rainforest in Brunswick, Melbourne. So Johns out.
Will (aka Slimeball, grease face, Oooooohhhh let me touch your body) has moved into the room with Tai and Jin. I'm not sure his girlfriend Lucy is too pleased seeing as he did have his own room. His own room which has a double bed is now inhabited by Maria and new girl.....Uh can't remember her name but I was told she was Maria's sister ( lets just say I feel safer with her in the house...Unit) turns out its not her sister its just a mate but they are quite happy to share a bed. So thats back to the normal 10 right..oh no there was one more to vacate Maria's now empty bed in the girls room.
New girl is called Bhoy Hyung, she honestly looks about 13 much to someone's delight, she is actually 26!! You could blow her over she is so small and she is straight out of Korea, she can not speak much, I mean any English. We had a house meeting the other day for cleaning and the topic of choosing her an English name came up. Paul chose Britney and hasn't stopped calling her that since. So Britney it is. I just call her Hyung Bhoy, Young Boy or little fella much to my own amusement. So we have 11, Wendy is leaving to move in with her little work friend so no doubt we will have someone in Wendys bed as soon as she rolls over.
Right now for the annoyance that is the lads I live with. Its been accumulating for a while. William is a...He is a bit of a sleaze, self confessed lazy tw#t. It all started when he had a go at at Paul for using the tumble dryer for too long. Then Kim, Lee, Jin and Tai asked me if I wanted to be in a football team with them and then planned out formations and the like and said we needed practices. So I casually said yeah sure I'll play. Anywho Saturday comes and Paul I didn't go to practice, partly cos we could not be bothered and partly cos we could not be bothered. Anyway the lads have not spoken to me since. Acting rather juvenile. They have stopped coming to my lessons. So on Thursday when they asked if there was a lesson I told em to go swing. I may be poorer but the free time is good and Ill get some new students just to piss them off.
Awwww how therapeutic blogging is....uh...this one time when I was at church this man...he touched me...ha ha only joshing, love to all byeeeeeeeee

Joga Benito Bresciano...

Joga Benito means play beautiful according to a nike advert we have out here...And people say commercialism is all bad!!

Round up of all thats Joga Sujo ( this means play sloppy!) down under:

England: through, as usual making it look hard, Owen, brilliant news yet another Newcastle season blighted by the fact we wont start with our best player and it means at the moment we have Owen..Uh no...Shearer...Uh no.....Chopra...Uh no....Ameobi...Yep Shola (im wearing a thong) Ameobi spearheading our strike force on his lonesome. great!

In all honesty if England keep winning and I keep complaining then I'll be happy, its when we play well and lose that I'll be bothered.

Australia: Played this morning and didnt need an alarm for work as people of Sydney did the usual by dancing in the streets. Through to the last 16 and good luck to them.

Korea: Don't care any more and to be honest I hope they go out cos Koreans are doing my head in not least the ones I bloody live with ( might write a seperate post on this) but in summary I live with 9 Koreans now, a new record and a few of them are being proper tw...twits!

Will post some photos this weekend and as I know your all want to see a bit of Bri! x

Congratulations are in "Order, Order!"

After Thomas FB Briant became the first member of the Briant family to ever receive a degree (My Dad has a degree in fashion and culture ha ha ha, he told me this once when he was drunk because I had a go at him for wearing Pyjama bottoms out of the house.) Any way my sister Claire continued the tradition today and received a 2:1 in history and politics. The gulf between my degree result and Claire's is not as large as one thought: Though Claire did do a degree in History and Politics and not running and climbing like me.

So congratulations Claire, who is currently sunning herself and pickling her liver in Thailand the lucky lucky thing.

In reference to the future Mark is next to go forth and take on University, I fully envisage Marks PHD on "Social constraints of young gay intellectuals in the modern workplace" will not only be heartfelt but award winning and revered by his many peers. Mark will go on to lecture at UCL for 15 years, dabbling in a three year period where he drank nothing but whisky and ate only glacier cherries, there will be an attempt to terminate his position as head of department after he was found befriending a young Brazilian arts student called Rodriguez, He will later be quitted of any wrong doing as Rodriguez fled the country and was therfore unable to provide sufficient evidence. He will finally quit it all and move to France to live with his partner where they will live in isolation for 6 wonderful years. It will be here that Mark writes some of his greatest works.

Well done Claire and well done Mark by the looks of things...

My World Cup of Tea for Two

External/Barbados/Market/Day

A young Dwight Yorke practices keepie uppies with an orange from his mothers stall.

Mrs Yorke: Dwight man, will yer stop playing fut-ball with me orangeeees man??!

Dwight: Chill out womaaaaan! One day are will be playing for the dee Soccer Warriors against the mighteee Engerland man and it will be dee proudest day of me life...sugar!!

Mrs Yorke: Ha ha are yous dreamin again Dwight boy!

Dwight: Nah Sugar! Yer reet man, it want be dee proudest day 'ave me life, dat will be when me and Andy Cole do the tree way ting wiv that girl from CD:UK ...Boi!!

So England are through to face either Germany or Equador, I dont know which I would prefer but Germany will be a nightmare, I cant take that kind of stress so early.

Korea won there first game and there were 10,000 Koreans out in force in Darling Harbour to watch them play. The Sydney council are not sure quite where they all came from seeing as the last cencus only reported 7,000 rooms in Sydney. I can only presume they didnt include cupboards, airing cupboards and outhouses. Wendy dressed up as a red cat with a knitted bonnet with cat ears and one Korean guy climbed a statue and fell off and ended up in hospital.

I seemed to of gotten swept up in the whole Socceroos hysteria and put $14 on Australia to beat Brazil and at 11-1 Im set to make my millions. I also put $3 Korea to beat France.

In other news Cooper gets back next week so we have a busy weekend planned. Sydney Harbour Brige walk Friday night, Saturday night on the tiles with our new found knowledge of Sydney nightlife (previous nights out resulted in going to Gay Clubs, Lesbian Nights and Night Clubs with 6,000 capacity and 11 people populating it.) So Cooper expect good things: real clubs filled with the beautiful people you see on Bacrdi adverts. Our weekend finishes with a Sunday night out with the Cast of Neighbours. We are going to be joined by Lyn Scully, Toadie and Paul Robinson (Mum even you will know him from the days when I would hide behind the green leather sofa because people were "kissing" on the telly...Such a conservative child)

Thats it really, Life is clear, the water is good. x

My World Cup of Tea

Rather like the BBC who cover all of the World cup games I thought I would cover the three World Cup entries that effect me most in my time down under whilst the World Cup is on. I will offer a personal view on England as a supporter down under, Australia's progression through the eyes and views of the slightly deluded Australian media and lastly South Korea, because regardless of whether I wanted to follow their progress, living where I do and with those I do, it is nye on impossible not to.

England: 1-0. Good enough result despite a less than convincing performance, Sven is starting to remind me of someone who sits quietly in the corner of the office for 11 months of the year just pottering on doing his work and then goes to the Christmas party and gets blind drunk, not giving a damn and pi##ing on the buffet. His selection policy is beyond me and why he took Owen off and put Joe Cole upfront. Granted Joe Cole may be a better player than Theo Wallcott, So why take him then when Defoe would be a perfect replacement for Owen.

Australia: I bloody love Harry "Harry Cool" Kewell Me, Firstly they won 3-1, Well done Australia after 32 years since their last World cup (were they gained no points) they have their first 3pts against the mighty Japan! And the way the fans celebrated in Sydney you would of thought they had won the damn thing. Next on to the coverage we get out here. All the games are shown on SBS and well the pundits are deluded. Great words of wisdom include:

  • Roy Keane was one of Manchester United greatest ever Strikers!
  • England rely too much on Beckhams kicking!!!! ( Yer!! as a football team I agree we do rely too much, we should concentrate on utilising his Pole Vaulting and SwingBall talents instead)
  • They say that our midfield is our weakness and that there is no one in that midfield that can take a freekick or score other than Beckham!
  • They said that Sweden will win the group and England will battle it out for 2cnd place with Paraguay even after we won and Sweden drew

Basically they all chat bollards and slag England off to high heaven. A perfect example of their attitude was shown on the Australian version of Question time where a member of the public wrote in:

" I am an Englishman residing in Australia and I have noticed the increase in hostility shown towards us pommes in recent times on Australian telly, Anyone would think that we were the Convicts, I wasn't brought here on a banana boat you know!"

To which the silverhaired equivalent of Anne Robinson or Parkinson replied:

"In response to your comment good Sir, I have nothing to say, I will leave that to the Aussie cricket team when they spank you in the Ashes next year."

Mmmm diplomacy at its finest.

Lastly on to Korea, They are yet to play but they do so tonight. The result of the game I care for little, However the attitude and desire from the fans out here has to be admired if not slightly OTT. On Sunday (4 days before their fist game) The Korean Population of Sydney did a street parade to honor there team. On Sunday I went to play footy and in Hyde park there was a gang of about 20 KoKo's just chilling, making some banners playing some drums. Thankfully the great people at Samsung have put up huge screens to show all the Korean games which means their whines of joy will be just out of earshot so as to allow me to get a good nights sleep.

Lastly and this is my fave: The Korean equivalent of a football chant means "Victory to Korea," how do you say it you may ask, well the spelling Im unsure or but phonetically it is:

"OHHH Piss on Korea, Oh Piss on Korea Oh Oh Oh OH OH!! OH OH!"

I have a sneaky suspicion that the wishes made in this chant will be granted, Togo get drinking plenty of fluids.

No News Is Good News

Well folks I have not posted anything on here in sometime so I thought I'd just let you all know how things are going. Settled into the daily routine of work and the lessons are improving and going well too. Big city life is treating me well. The weather isn't too grand at the moment but seeing as we are just here in Sydney to get some cash together its not too bad. weekends consists of either trips away or nights on the lash, With the World Cup sneeking up on us I can see it being more of the latter. My one concern is that the Koreans I live with will cheer and admire running water, so when it comes to Football they will woop and cheer anything; corners, throw ins and even passes, none of them have jobs so they will all be up at 4am cheering Iran and the fact that they won their 3rd corner. NB: Ear plugs.

Apart from that everything seems to be going hunky-dorian ( dont be surprised if this changes soon as it my life is rarley twist free as some of you may know)

Love to all ~ x
